Job summary

Gleeds in Denver, Colorado seeks ambitious Cost Managers and/or Quantity Surveyors to join our team on large-scale, high-impact projects including data centers, mission critical, commercial and manufacturing facilities for global clients.

The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and team player with a sound foundation in construction cost management activities, prequalification, bidding, estimation, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.
  • Experience in cost management activities and data-driven cost control.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor prequalification, bids, interviews, and client recommendations.
  • Develop full project estimates; present to client; value engineering & risk reviews.
  • Establish cost reporting, budgets, forecasts, risk register, and vendor meetings.
  • Review payment apps, change orders, contractor entitlements, and disputes.
  • Manage and monitor invoicing process.
  • Oversee final accounting, post-contract audits, and account close-out.
  • Create lessons learned and training materials for ongoing development.
  • Utilize Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, and cost/take-off software.

About this opportunity

Location: Denver, Colorado

Gleeds are seeking an ambitious Cost Managers and/or Quantity Surveyor to join our team, working on large-scale, high-impact projects, including Data Centers, Mission Critical, Commercial, and Manufacturing facilities for global clients.
The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and team player with a sound foundation in construction, in particular relating to cost management activities.

Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • Managing prequalification of vendors, assessing proposals, bids, and bidlevellingdocuments, making final recommendations to the client, attending bid interviews, and managing appointment processes
  • Estimating services for full project by developing project estimates (relating to construction, fees, direct work and other costs), presenting estimates to Client, preparing value engineering recommendations and risk assessments, meeting with vendors to review, validate, and challenge costs, and reviewing estimates by utilizing benchmark data collected from other projects
  • Cost reporting by establishing reporting schedule, reviewing & presenting cost reports and forecasts, reviewing project budget & spend forecast, developing & maintaining commercial risk register, and hosting periodic meetings with project team & vendors
  • Reviewing payment application assessments, liaising with project managers to recommend contractor entitlements, reviewing requests for change orders from vendors, and using dispute prevention/management/resolution procedures to manage payment requisitions, change orders, and contractual disputes
  • Manage & monitor invoicing process
  • Final accounting process and post contract audits and account close outs.
  • Establish a lesson learned document for further professional development and creation training material.
  • Perform all the duties above through the use/preparation of Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or other field related to construction.
