Job summary

GM Hill Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Cost Engineer to support independent government estimates from concept to final design. You will work with design teams using MII and RS Means software to build accurate budgets and pricing narratives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 5–10 years of estimating experience, with 3–5 years in MII or Gordian pricing. Travel to bases will be required; security clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5–10 years of industry experience.
• 3–5 years MII estimating experience on design projects or Gordian pricing for Job Order Contracts.
• MII2 software experience preferred but not required if RS Means experience.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications.
• Define all work using onscreen takeoff to prepare estimates.
• Collaborate with design consultants to include MEP scopes and ranges.
• Prepare project pricing narratives.
• Develop conceptual budgets from limited information
• Review costs, schedules, site logistics, and exhibits
• Track and communicate cost trends and value-engineering options
• Maintain strong client and design-team relationships
• Price change impacts as needed
