Job summary

Hatched Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Construction Cost Estimator for its Jacksonville team. You will handle estimating for federal, public-sector and private projects, from early budgeting to preconstruction and handoff.

You’ll work across architecture, engineering, construction management and design-build to gain a broad view of project development and delivery, with exposure to value-engineering and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of estimating or construction experience, with 5+ years preferred.
• Federal or government construction estimating experience is highly valued.
• Experience with projects in excess of $2M.
• Strong understanding of plans, specs, scopes, quantities and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Estimate federal and commercial construction projects from drawings and specs.
• Develop budgets and evaluate alternative methods and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to build and validate project prices.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes, schedules and site logistics for risks and opportunities.
• Track construction and material cost trends to improve estimating accuracy.
• Support the transition from bid through preconstruction and project delivery.
• Build relationships with clients, design teams, subs and suppliers.
• Take ownership of multiple bids while managing deadlines and priorities.
• Work with operations and project management on constructability and planning.
