Job summary

O’Connor Construction Management, Inc. in Sacramento is seeking an MEP-focused Cost Estimator to join our hybrid-works office.

You will support the development of cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems while collaborating with a team of project controls professionals. Qualifications

• One to three years of construction industry experience, preferably involving mechanical, electrical, or plumbing scopes.
• Microsoft Office suite and Smartsheet experience preferred
• Experience with OST or other take-off software is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture preferred; or 2 years of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and pricing related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Provide a detailed review of all documentation and develop comprehensive cost estimates/models that communicate the client’s project and strategic goals.
• Perform quantity take-off in a manner and level of detail consistent with the project goals and support the team.
• Input estimate data into the appropriate software
• Assure that a quality product is presented to the client through adherence to the company’s QA/QC procedures.
• Communicate effectively through clear and concise means appropriate to the project’s goals (verbal, written, and graphics)
• Actively research, solicit, and develop sources/vendors for compiling and maintaining the accuracy of cost information.
• Desire to learn, grow, and advance their skills in estimating, and various other project controls.

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000
