Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specs, and bid documents to understand scope.
  • Assist in preparing estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and subs for pricing details.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
  • Maintain estimating records and databases.
  • Support bid preparation and proposal development.
  • Participate in budget reviews and project handoffs.
  • Stay informed on market pricing and material costs.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Cost Estimator to join their team. Position Overview

The Cost Estimator will support the preconstruction process by assisting with project estimates, analyzing plans and specifications, and helping develop accurate project budgets. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a collaborative and successful construction organization.

Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements
  • Assist in preparing estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis using available project information
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricing and project details
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
  • Maintain accurate estimating records and databases
  • Support bid preparation and proposal development efforts
  • Participate in project handoff meetings and assist with budget reviews as needed
  • Stay informed on market pricing, construction trends, and material costs
Qualifications
  • Construction, engineering, estimating, or related industry experience preferred
  • Recent graduates with relevant education or internship experience are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with Bluebeam, estimating software, or construction management tools is a plus
