Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and client documents to prepare estimates.
• Collaborate with project leads to develop estimates within the package.
• Prepare detailed estimates for new projects and change orders, meeting deadlines.
• Estimate shop labor, materials, and equipment costs for a thorough bid.
• Read bid instructions, takeoffs, and prepare price estimates including specialty equipment.
• Coordinate with Sales and Pre-construction to understand project size and timelines.
• Discuss alternative recommendations for value engineering when needed.
• Prepare pricing estimates and summarize results for leadership review.

Job title: Cost Estimator- SCA Experience
Location: Bryant Park, NY
Compensation range: $48-58 p/hour

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation presented by the client to accurately prepare and estimate projects.
• Collaborate with project leads and leadership to develop estimates as part of the larger scope package.
• Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
• Estimate all necessary shop labor and field installation, and determine materials, buyout items, and equipment costs to prepare a thorough bid estimate.
• Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications; prepare a "take off" of materials included in the job and estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs (including specialty equipment like lifts or generators) to prepare a thorough price estimate.
• Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand the size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines.
• Be comfortable discussing alternative recommendations on projects in which management requires value engineering or alternative estimates to meet client needs.
• Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and change orders on existing contracts, and summarize results with appropriate leaders to ensure complete job coverage.

Necessary Qualifications

• Experience: General Estimator 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships.
