Job summary

Infinite Consulting Corp in New York, NY seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to develop detailed electrical estimates for new and retrofit projects. You will review blueprints, prepare take-offs, and collaborate with project leads to produce competitive bids while meeting tight deadlines.

Ideal candidates hold an Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent), have 7+ years in electrical estimating, and are proficient with estimation software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of Electrical Estimator experience in construction.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and electrical components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specifications and documentation to prepare accurate electrical estimates.
• Prepare take-offs of electrical materials, labor, and equipment costs for bids.
• Collaborate with project leads to develop estimates and meet deadlines.
• Assist with change orders and value engineering as needed.

Job title: Senior Electrical Estimator- Infinite Consulting Corp
Location: New York, NY (Work from Home, but must be located in NYC Metro area to attend to occasional meetings or project requirements)

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation presented by the client to accurately prepare and estimate projects, with a focus on electrical scopes.
• Collaborate with project leads and leadership to develop MEP estimates as part of the larger scope package.
• Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
• Prepare "Take Offs" of mechanical/electrical materials, estimate all necessary shop labor and field installation, and determine materials, buyout items, and equipment costs to prepare a thorough bid estimate.
• Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications; prepare a "take off" of materials included in the job and estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs (including specialty equipment like lifts or generators) to prepare a thorough price estimate.
• Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand the size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines.
• Be comfortable discussing alternative recommendations on projects in which management requires value engineering or alternative estimates to meet client needs.
• Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and change orders on existing contracts, and summarize results with appropriate leaders to ensure complete job coverage.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent years of experience).
• Experience: Electrical Estimator 7 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably with electrical systems.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, MEP systems, methods, and industry best practices. Familiar with HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems, Basic Mech Design knowledge.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships.

Infinite Consulting Corp carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's experience, education, and training. The estimated salary for this position is $135,000-$175,000 Annually (Salary commensurate with experience and local cost of living.)
