Job summary

Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Cost Engineer in the Central Engineering group in Ohio to drive standardized cost management, reporting, and forecasting across projects.

You will lead budget setup, track costs, and provide insights to support decision-making, working with multiple project teams and using standard cost systems. The role emphasizes process improvement, data reliability, and collaboration across project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of cost engineering, project controls, or construction accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and project workflows.
• Experience with cost management or project systems such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Procore or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead project budget setup and cost structure development in alignment with estimates and company standards.
• Monitor and analyze project costs, commitments, and expenditures across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain standardized cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards.
• Assist with budget setup, cost tracking, and forecasting processes across projects.
• Review subcontract, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable insights.
• Assist in owner-required reporting and project-specific tracking requirements.
• Develop and maintain company-wide cost control procedures and tools.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and data reliability.
• Travel to project sites as needed to support teams.
