Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to support corporate and operational accounting across our diversified construction and infrastructure groups. You will partner with the Controller and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

This role drives the monthly close, consolidations, audits, budgeting, and system improvements, while promoting consistency across business units and compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required or actively pursuing certification.
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or multi-entity environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements; experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX-related controls where applicable.
• Partner with business unit finance teams to ensure consistent accounting practices across the organization.
• Assist with external and internal audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes through collaboration with FP&A and operational teams.
• Drive process improvements in accounting operations, systems, and reporting workflows.
• Participate in finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations and standardization efforts.
