Job summary

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies in Wilton, NY is looking for a Cost Engineer II to join our finance and project teams. You will lead project cost setup, collect cost data, analyze trends, and present reports that highlight risks and variances.

• 3–6 years of cost engineering, project controls, or construction financial management experience.
• Strong cost tracking, forecasting, and revenue recognition knowledge.
• Analytical with ability to translate data into insights.
• Effective cross-functional communication and attention to detail.
• Experience with construction management and financial software.

Responsibilities

• Lead job setup with cost codes, budgets, and quantity tracking.
• Collect and analyze weekly production quantities and cost data.
• Develop and present weekly cost and production reports with risks and variances.
• Prepare monthly cost and revenue projections, including earned value.
• Identify discrepancies between cost, quantities, and schedule; resolve with teams.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide financial insights.
• Manage contract values, change orders, budgets transfers, and job cost adjustments.
• Support forecasting methodologies and reporting consistency.
• Assist in training Cost Engineer I team members.
• Collaborate with accounting and operations to align reporting and performance.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Lead job setup forassigned projects, including development of cost codes, budgets, andquantity tracking structures in coordination with estimating and projectteams
• Collect, validate, andanalyze weekly production quantities and cost data from project teams
• Develop and presentweekly cost and production reports with clear identification of risks,trends, and variances
• Prepare and maintainaccurate monthly cost and revenue projections, including earned valueanalysis where applicable
• Identify discrepanciesbetween cost, quantities, and schedule, and work with project teams toresolve issues
• Actively participate inproject review meetings and provide insight into financial performance
• Review and managecontract values, change orders, budget transfers, and job cost adjustments
• Support and help improveforecasting methodologies and reporting consistency across projects
• Assist in training andmentoring Cost Engineer I team members
• Collaborate withaccounting and operations to ensure alignment between financial reportingand project performance

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree inengineering, finance, accounting, or related field required
• 3–6 years of experiencein cost engineering, project controls, or construction financialmanagement
• Strong understanding ofcost tracking, forecasting, and revenue recognition principles
• Ability to analyze dataand translate findings into actionable insights
• Strong attention todetail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communicationskills and ability to work cross-functionally with project teams
• Proficiency inconstruction management and financial software systems

Compensation:

Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.

CE I $65K – $85K
CE II $80K – $105K
CE III $100K – $130K
Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
