Haugland Group LLC, a Long Island, NY-based civil infrastructure and energy construction firm, seeks a Cost Engineer to join our Project Management team. You will support construction projects with submittal processing, material management and budget analysis.

The successful candidate will have civil or electrical construction experience, strong organization, and the ability to manage cost tracking, invoicing reviews and vendor coordination. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or experience in civil or electrical construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• High initiative and commitment to completing assignments timely.
• Ability to identify problems, assess information, and recommend solutions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Track project scope by line items related to job phases and schedule; report cost slippage and overruns.
• Support change orders, back charges, and cost transfers preparation and review.
• Review and verify craft labor time sheets from the Foreman.
• Code and approve invoices with Accounts Payable and Contract Administration.
• Effectively manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Contract Administrator to prepare monthly client requisitions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reporting.
