A leading staffing and workforce solutions provider is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join their Global Cost Engineering team in East Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will focus on cost modeling and engineering analysis to reduce manufacturing costs. This role requires hands-on work and collaboration across multiple teams, along with at least 3 years of relevant engineering experience.

Base pay range

$44.00/hr - $47.00/hr

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join our Global Cost Engineering team. This role focuses on identifying opportunities to reduce or avoid manufacturing costs through detailed cost modeling, engineering analysis, and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. The position involves both analytical and hands-on work to support supplier negotiations, engineering design improvements, and value-driven product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and analyze comprehensive cost models for products and components, generating accurate "Should Cost" estimates.
• Perform destructive teardowns and create 3D models using 3D scanners, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or other CAD tools as required.
• Provide recommendations to support benchmarking, supplier negotiations, and new product development initiatives across multiple teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and procurement groups to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver key presentations to internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
• Limited travel may be required on an as-needed basis.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software (Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Familiarity with factory and manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.).
• Understanding of sheet metal operations (cutting, forming, joining, etc.).
• Cost estimation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to HVAC&R systems is a plus.
• Strong skills in MS O365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical presentations.
