Responsibilities

• Review and validate contractor change order requests related to structural, architectural, and cleanroom scopes.

• Verify drawings, specifications, RFIs, and contract documents for justification of changes.
• Track change order costs, budget impacts, and approvals using Excel.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, contractors, and Project Controls to resolve pricing discrepancies and negotiate values.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Cost Engineer - Cleanroom Structural & Architectural Construction to support one of the largest semiconductor manufacturing projects currently underway in the United States.

This individual will play a critical role in protecting project budgets and ensuring financial accountability across major cleanroom, structural, and architectural construction scopes.

The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing contractor change orders, validating pricing, evaluating scope impacts, and challenging costs where appropriate while working collaboratively with contractors, project teams, and project controls personnel. This is a highly visible position supporting a multi-billion-dollar semiconductor manufacturing facility where cost accuracy and change management are essential to project success.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Review and validate contractor change order requests related to:
• Structural steel
• Roofing systems
• Building envelope and exterior cladding
• Cleanroom walls and ceiling systems
• Raised access flooring
• Miscellaneous metals and supporting construction scopes
• Utilize Bluebeam Revu to review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, verify scope changes, and validate contractor pricing.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and schedule impacts associated with change order requests.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents to determine whether requested changes are justified.
• Analyze contractor pricing and identify opportunities to reduce project costs and prevent unnecessary expenditures.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Contractors, and Project Controls teams to resolve pricing discrepancies and negotiate fair change order values.
• Track change order costs, budget impacts, trends, and approvals using advanced Excel reporting and cost management tools.
