Job summary

Atlas Copco Compressors LLC in Houston, TX seeks an Assistant Business Controller to drive cost accounting, master data governance, and inventory control. You will report to the Senior Business Controller and partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering to optimize costs and financial reporting.

You will develop reports and dashboards, support month-end close, and ensure data integrity across SAP ERPs, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in systems analysis and programming, with two years in financial management systems (ERP/SAP).
• Familiarity with Atlas Copco methodologies, including GPS reporting frameworks.
• Strong cost accounting knowledge and data querying/reporting capabilities (SQL, Crystal Reports).
• Advanced Excel and Word skills with a track record of process improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, accounting, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Execute cost accounting processes including product costing, cost roll-ups, variances, and cost allocations.
• Manage inventory-related activities, valuation, reserves, and performance metrics.
• Govern master data for materials, cost centers, profit centers, and general ledger accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities; investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and engineering on costing initiatives and inventory optimization.
• Create and maintain management reports and dashboards highlighting cost and inventory performance.
• Ensure adherence to policies, accounting standards, and internal controls for costing and master data.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and ERP/system enhancements.
• Engage in SAP master data governance, including change requests, testing, and improvements.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and management reports to support planning and decision-making.
