Job summary

Specialty Rx, Inc. in Florida is seeking a licensed pharmacist for cost containment duties onsite in Orlando.

You will analyze high-cost medication orders, conduct comprehensive reviews, recommend therapy changes to physicians and staff, evaluate orders for safety, and communicate via phone and email, using Excel for hourly reports.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Florida.
• Long Term Care or Hospital experience preferred.
• Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skill.
• Framework / ECM software knowledge a plus.
• Microsoft Excel knowledge skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze high-cost medication orders and identify opportunities for cost savings through therapeutic interchange while ensuring patient safety
• Conduct comprehensive medication reviews to assess appropriate drug selection, dosage, administration, potential drug interactions, and opportunities for cost-effective therapy.
• Recommend appropriate therapy changes and therapeutic interchange options to physicians and facility staff.
• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
• Communicate effectively via, phone, and email.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to run hourly reports.
• Complete any other task assigned by the Cost Containment supervisor
