Job summary

Specialty Rx, Inc. is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Florida to join our cost containment team onsite. The role focuses on therapeutic interchanges, comprehensive medication reviews, and cost-effective therapy optimization in a healthcare setting.

Ideal candidates have hospital or long-term care exposure, strong clinical and analytical skills, and proficient Excel usage. State licenses beyond Florida are a plus; onsite shift is 8:00am to 4:30pm with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed Pharmacist in Florida.
• State licenses in PA, AL, OH, GA, NY are a plus.
• Long Term Care or Hospital experience preferred.
• Strong clinical, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Framework/ECM software knowledge a plus.
• Microsoft Excel knowledge skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze high-cost medication orders and identify opportunities for cost savings through therapeutic interchange while ensuring patient safety.
• Conduct comprehensive medication reviews to assess appropriate drug selection, dosage, administration, potential drug interactions, and opportunities for cost-effective therapy.
• Recommend appropriate therapy changes and therapeutic interchange options to physicians and facility staff.
• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
• Communicate effectively via phone and email.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to run hourly reports.
• Complete any other task assigned by the Cost Containment supervisor.
