Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Cost Basis Associate in Brokerage operations to help ensure the accuracy of cost basis reporting and regulatory compliance.

You will analyze financial data, build reports, and support improvements to monitoring and controls while partnering with teammates to deliver timely, accurate outcomes. You will contribute to automation efforts by drafting queries, building workflows, and testing changes, while applying tax rules and corporate actions knowledge to maintain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
• Ability to learn data analytics and automation tools such as SQL and Alteryx.
• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated controls mindset.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and deliver accurate results under deadlines.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity.
• Drive to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret financial and transactional data related to cost basis and tax lots
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor data accuracy, timeliness, and exceptions
• Identify trends and discrepancies, document findings, and recommend remediation steps
• Execute standardized workflows and procedures for cost basis processing and reconciliations
• Perform daily controls, manage exceptions, and resolve breaks with clear audit trails
• Track and report on key performance indicators and service level agreements
• Apply cost basis regulations, tax rules, and industry standards to support compliance
• Support accurate adjustments for corporate actions such as stock splits, mergers, and dividends
• Contribute to automation initiatives by drafting queries, building workflows, and assisting with testing
• Perform reconciliations between systems, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and implement preventive actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate analytical insights and support process changes
