Job summary

Hanwha Philly Shipyard, Inc. is seeking a cost analyst to support production management with cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting of production expenses.

The role requires updating weekly cost reports and reflecting budget adjustments from approved changes, while ensuring alignment with company policies and audit requirements. The ideal candidate will perform ad hoc analyses and collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business or 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in cost analysis with ability to interpret financial data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and cost concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support production management with cost tracking, reporting, and forecast of variances (direct and indirect).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met.
• Support production management in accurate cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting of production direct and indirect expenses, and recommend actions to reduce cost.
• Update cost reports, including variance analyses related to production direct and indirect expenses on a weekly basis.
• Reflect budget adjustments from approved make-or-buys, owner's change orders, and other budget transfers in cost reports related to production direct and indirect expenses.
• Ensure all cost reporting aligns with company policies, cost management standards, and audit requirements.
• Ad hoc cost analyses and reports.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties performed in an office area environment within a manufacturing facility. Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is an onsite, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Discipline or 10 years of experience in a commercial environment
• Experience in cost analysis
• Competence in cost concepts and analytical capabilities in the preparation of cost analyses
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Construction industry and International experience is a plus
