Job summary

Hanwha Philly Shipyard is seeking a Process Support Coordinator to join the Process Innovation team, supporting SAP S/4HANA and related system implementations for production operations.

You will coordinate between engineering, procurement, production, finance, and IT, translate business needs into functional specifications, and help drive adoption of new processes across the shipyard. This role is on-site in Philadelphia.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in ERP systems, business process support, or operations support roles.
  • Experience with SAP in manufacturing, shipbuilding, or heavy industry is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-departmental projects and communicate technical information effectively.

Responsibilities

Hanwha Philly Shipyard is undertaking a major digital transformation through the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and integrated Production/Operation Support System. The Process Support Coordinator will support the Process Innovation (PI) Team in implementing and maintaining business processes and system solutions related to shipyard production operations. This role will assist with coordination between departments, support system implementation activities, and help ensure effective adoption of new systems and processes across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Ensure that all HPSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are communicated, understood, and followed.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing operation of SAP and Non-SAP systems.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and SAP/non-SAP system improvements.
  • Facilitate coordination between engineering, procurement, production, finance, and IT teams during the project implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, document results, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders and management.
  • Support organizational change management activities related to new system implementation, including stakeholder engagement, process transition planning, and user adoption strategies.
  • Perform communication, training, and documentation efforts to help users successfully adopt new systems and workflows.
  • Track project activities, prepare status updates, and support reporting for management.
  • Assist the PI team in identifying opportunities for operational and process improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

COMPETENCIES

  • Basic understanding of ERP systems such as SAP or non-SAP (similar business systems).
  • Basic domain knowledge of manufacturing, shipbuilding or heavy industries.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor ’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in ERP systems, business process support, or operations support roles.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) in manufacturing, shipbuilding, or heavy industry is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-departmental projects and communicate technical information effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.Work may be executed indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.
