Job summary

ADTRAN, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manager of Cost Accounting to lead standard costing, inventory valuation, and close processes across global manufacturing operations.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to drive margins, perform variance analysis, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role requires a strong GAAP background, ERP proficiency, and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and U.S. GAAP.
• Experience supporting complex manufacturing operations and global supply chains.
• ERP proficiency and advanced Excel skills.
• Analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost accounting close processes.
• Maintain and enhance standard cost systems.
• Analyze manufacturing, labor, purchase price, and overhead variances.
• Oversee inventory valuation, reserve calculations, cycle counts, and warranty accruals.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning activities.
• Develop executive reporting related to margins and inventory metrics.
• Support audits and ensure SOX compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and cost accounting staff.
