Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Cost Accounting Leader to support finance and operational leadership with advanced patient cost analytics, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling and data visualization. The cost accounting team translates clinical, payroll and financial information to inform capital investments, payor negotiations, and complex risk scenarios.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant experience
3 years in a leadership or management role
3 years of database development
3 years with cost accounting
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to adapt to changing computer technologies
Strong understanding of relational database structures, applications, and transactional systems

Responsibilities

Lead hiring decisions, coaching, performance management and staff productivity
Establish cost accounting principles across network entities, including cost type definitions and allocation methodologies
Direct cost analysts and maintain cost allocation rules and processes
Produce actionable, accurate patient care cost information for each fiscal year
Develop reports and analyses using SAS, Excel, Tableau, Alteryx to support decision making
Mentor and develop the cost accounting team and collaborate with hospital leaders
