Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting partners with a life sciences manufacturer in Massachusetts to hire a Cost Accounting Manager. This role leads the accounting close, P&L analysis, costing, and inventory support for manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in month-end close, strong US GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and excellent Excel skills. Hybrid work arrangement: in-office 3 days per week with base salary $120–$130k plus bonus.

Qualifications

• BS in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years experience with a focus on month-end close.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems or cloud-based systems.
• Strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, accrued expenses, payroll, fixed assets and others.
• Inventory analysis and reconciliations; work with Operations personnel to reinforce proper reporting procedures and assist with inventory activity reconciliation.
• Assist Operations with cycle counting and physical inventories to ensure accurate reporting of inventories and adjustments.
• Review all standard cost changes for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to ensure accuracy of standard costs.
• Prepare margin analysis and manufacturing variance reports.
• Maintain fixed asset schedule including monthly depreciation entries and reconciliation.
• Assist with the year-end external audit by preparing schedules and providing responses.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Essential Duties

KBW Financial has partnered with a PE Backed life science manufacturer to identify a Cost Accounting Manager. This role is responsible the accounting close, P&L analysis and supporting the manufacturing function with costing and inventory areas. Additional details include:

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, accrued expenses, payroll, fixed assets and others.
• Inventory Analysis and Reconciliations; work with Operations personnel to reinforce proper reporting procedures and to assists them with the recording of any inventory activity to ensure data integrity on inventory reporting.
• Assist Operations with cycle counting and physical inventories to ensure accurate reporting of inventories and adjustments.
• Review all standard cost changes for select product lines including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to ensure accuracy of standard costs.
• Prepare margin analysis and manufacturing variance reports.
• Maintain fixed asset schedule including monthly depreciation entries and reconciliation.
• Assist with the year-end external audit by preparing schedules and providing selection responses.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Requirements

• 5+ years of prior experience with a focus on month-end close
• Strong understanding of accounting, including thorough understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems or other cloud-based systems
• Strong Excel skills

COMP: $120-130k Base + Bonus
