Overview
Reporting to the Global Plant Controller, the Cost Accounting Manager is a key contributor within the Accounting organization. This individual partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Distribution to drive financial performance and cost visibility across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop members of the Cost Accounting team
- Oversee cost accounting processes across manufacturing, distribution, and logistics
- Analyze trucking, warehousing, and freight expenses to improve cost visibility and control
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Distribution teams to evaluate and reduce costs
- Determine and validate landed costs for raw materials and turnkey items
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to production, logistics, and distribution
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and inventory optimization
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory valuation and reporting
Qualifications
- Must be available for relocation to Idaho Falls, Idaho (corporate relocation assistance provided)
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in cost accounting
- Strong background in cost accounting within manufacturing environments
- Experience with logistics, distribution, trucking, or warehousing cost structures preferred
- Experience leading accounting teams of two or more professionals
- Demonstrated success as a change agent
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences
- Experience working in a matrixed environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deliverables
- Familiarity with transactional and reporting systems
