Job summary

AscendArc is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to own cost accounting for a complex hardware manufacturer, partnering with FP&A and cross‑functional teams.

You will design standard costing, own inventory valuation, and manage month‑end close, while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and program cost tracking.

This hands-on role requires ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), advanced Excel, and a proven ability to build scalable finance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of accounting experience with cost accounting in manufacturing.
  • Strong command of standard costing, inventory valuation, WIP accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Hands-on ERP experience; NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and build process where none exists.
  • US Person as defined under ITAR due to access to controlled data.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and own the standard costing system, including BOM and routing costs, labor and overhead rates, and burden structures for low‑volume, high‑complexity hardware builds.
  • Own inventory valuation and control across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods with reconciliations and cycle counts.
  • Own the cost side of month-end close: COGS, capex vs expense, and WIP roll‑forward.
  • Integrate cost data across systems and reconcile PLM, MES, and NetSuite for a single cost picture.
  • Establish cost accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for an audit-ready environment.
  • Track program costs and support ASC 606 revenue recognition and ETC/EAC analysis.
