Job summary

MACOM is seeking a Cost Accountant to support manufacturing and operations through product costing, inventory accounting, close, reporting and controls. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, recent SAP experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload.

Manufacturing cost-accounting experience is preferred, but a strong accountant with SAP proficiency and learning agility may succeed with structured onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years SAP accounting experience with data extraction and discrepancy research.
• Strong accounting fundamentals including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume workload with accuracy and prioritization.
• Willingness to work weekends around month-end close.
• Occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Support product costing in SAP including BOMs, routings, labor, overhead, and purchasing information.
• Analyze variances, inventory activity, cycle counts, and related discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and SOX controls documentation.
• Manage labor, overhead, precious metals, and other operational accounting activities.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, capital analysis, and financial reporting.
• Use SAP to research postings and validate data for analysis.
• Respond to audit requests and participate in ERP/system-improvement projects.
• Manage recurring and ad hoc assignments with timely communication of risks.
