Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a Cost Accountant to support the Corporate Controller with internal cost reporting and cost allocation to determine product/service costs and profitability. The role partners with Plant Controller and Operating Team to analyze cost drivers and ensure accurate cost per unit.

The position covers budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, SOX compliance, and ad hoc cost projects, with potential for broader plant back-office exposure over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Up to 2 years accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP with strong cost systems background.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing on cost standards.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; Access is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting and forecasting with plant personnel.
• Financial statement analysis and reporting to Plant operating team.
• Develop metrics to improve cost efficiency across material, labor, overhead, inventory.
• Reconcile and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Assist project leaders with capital requests and cost justification.
• Monitor project spending versus plan and ensure controls including SOX compliance.
• Assist operations with audits and internal controls.
• Perform ad hoc cost analyses for new projects.
