Job summary

Venteon is recruiting for a Cost Accountant in the Detroit metro area for a mid-sized manufacturing client. The role partners with Operations, Engineering, and Accounting to translate cost data into actionable insights and standard cost analyses.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIF to drive accurate cost reporting and inventory analysis.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience in a mid-sized or large company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Expert in Excel knowledge, Pivot Tables, Vlookup and SUMIF formulas.

Responsibilities

• Cost Accountant works closely with Operations, Engineering and Accounting teams to help understand key metrics and put together action plans to resolve
• Develop Standard Costs and related analysis for significant changes
• Support physical inventory counts and help with Excess/Obsolete inventory analysis
• Help prepare relevant journal entries as needed
• Provide relevant data to pricing and quoting teams, to understand future profitability
