Job summary

Staff Financial Group in Cumming, GA seeks a Cost Accountant – Manufacturing to support standard costing, COGS analysis, ERP-driven reporting, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.

You will work cross-functionally with sales and operations to ensure accurate costing, margin analysis, and timely month-end close while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or related capacity.
• Experience recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing variances and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, maintaining, and analyzing standard costs.
• Partner with sales to provide cost data for pricing and quoting decisions.
• Improve costing processes through cross-functional collaboration.
• Prepare and distribute manufacturing reports including gross margin, yield, and aged inventory.
• Maintain monthly gross margin reporting.
• Prepare month-end journal entries (COGS, E&O, PPV, and other manufacturing accounts).
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations related to manufacturing accounts.
• Calculate and record quarterly labor and overhead capitalization.
• Perform monthly obsolescence analysis with Controller/CFO.
• Analyze COGS accounts monthly.

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant supports financial and operational reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining standard cost systems, analyzing COGS and manufacturing variances, supporting ERP-driven reporting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
