Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Cost Accountant to support Live Operations, delivering accurate cost reporting, month-end closings, and balance sheet reconciliations for grow-out facilities, feed mills, and hatcheries.

The role partners with management to resolve issues, perform ad hoc analyses, and ensure efficient operation in a fast-paced environment, with a compensation package including annual bonus potential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 2–3 years of cost accounting experience.
• Strong team player.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible hours to accommodate settlements on Tuesday and special projects.
• Availability to travel to assist with Live audits as needed.
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP would be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GAAP for assigned facilities and prepare monthly close.
• Manage management reporting and ad hoc analyses for Ops and Accounting.
• Maintain internal controls and perform audits of inventory and payroll.
• Assist in annual operating plan preparations.
• Back up posting weekly settlements and support Settlement Coordinators.
