Job summary

Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant for its Encore program—a paid 12-week internship designed for professionals returning to work after a career break. You’ll contribute from day one, solving real problems, and collaborating with TI teams.

This role emphasizes cost accounting, GAAP compliance, and close processes, with mentoring and networking built into the program. High performers may transition to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business degree.
• 2 years' work-related experience.
• Proficiency in SAP, Excel, BPC and Business Objects.
• Fundamental understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and managerial cost accounting.
• Strong organizational, strategic and critical thinking skills.
• Advanced time management and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across broad levels of management and functions.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and quarterly close, P&L and balance sheet actuals, inventory valuation, audits, pricing, and GAAP compliance.
• Ownership of OTC and AIP pricing activities, including new material setup and quarterly pricing cycle.
• Support contract accounting requirements for licensing, cost tracking, reimbursement, royalty implications, and inventory tracking.
• Determine need for balance sheet adjustments such as reserves and accruals.
• Collaborate with finance and management on performance reviews and cost reduction activities.
• Pursue process improvements, including automation, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Participate in and lead various priority teams and initiatives.
