Job summary

Sekisui House U.S., Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant to create, manage, and maintain cost budgets for homes in inventory. You will conduct variance analysis, support cost management, and ensure adherence to accounting standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years cost accounting or finance experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Experience performing cost analysis, inventory accounting, or financial data review.
• Ability to guide or assist others within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify variances and trends.
• Support inventory valuation and cost allocation processes per accounting standards.
• Assist with month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities related to cost accounting.
• Investigate cost variances and discrepancies with internal partners.
• Ensure cost data accuracy and compliance with policies and controls.
• Communicate cost findings to internal stakeholders as needed.
• Support audits by preparing cost accounting documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Provide guidance to entry-level staff or support employees as appropriate.
