The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration and at least two years of cost accounting experience, with proficiency in GAAP, Microsoft Office,

Qualifications

  • At least two years of cost accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and compile all related cost information.
  • Generate monthly invoices and track cash receipts.
  • Generate and track production on project activities.
  • Predict revenue recognition and maintain accuracy.
  • Maintain project purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Predict and record variable costs.
  • Review daily timecards for coding accuracy and GAAP compliance.
  • Analyze actual costs to identify variances and profit margins.
  • Close out project documentation and lien releases.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closings with assistance.
  • Handle other related duties as assigned.

COST ACCOUNTANT
Summary of Functions

The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports, while reporting accurate revenue recognition.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gathers and compiles all related cost information.
  • Generates monthly invoices and track cash receipts.
  • Generates and tracks the production on project activities.
  • Predicts, plans, and records accurate revenue recognition.
  • Maintains and generates project related purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Predicts, plans, and records variable costs.
  • Reviews daily timecards for coding inaccuracies.
  • Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual profit margins.
  • Performs project close out of documentation and lien releases.
  • Performs month‑end and year‑end closings with assistance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent numeracy skills along with a logical and analytical mind.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HCSS products, and accounting software (Vista or Spectrum).
  • Thorough understanding of accounting procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business Administration required.
  • At least two years of experience in cost accounting preferred.
