The Opportunity
The company is looking to add a Cost Accountant to its finance team.
This role will be an important partner to both Finance and Operations, providing visibility into manufacturing costs, inventory, margins, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and be comfortable working closely with operational teams to understand the drivers behind the numbers.

What You'll Do
- Perform cost accounting activities related to manufacturing operations
- Analyze product costs, labor, materials, overhead, and manufacturing variances
- Monitor and analyze inventory costs and valuation
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting
- Prepare and analyze standard and/or actual cost information
- Investigate variances between actual costs, standard costs, budgets, and forecasts
- Partner with Operations and other cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing cost drivers
- Assist with the development and maintenance of product costing
- Analyze gross margins and profitability by product or product category
- Support inventory reconciliations and identify discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to manufacturing costs
- Identify opportunities to improve cost controls, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to the CFO and senior leadership
- Help develop and improve cost accounting processes as the company continues to grow
- Support ad hoc financial and operational analysis as needed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience, with cost accounting or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience with inventory accounting and product costing
- Ability to analyze labor, material, overhead, and manufacturing variances
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large sets of financial and operational data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing, and other teams
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Low-ego, collaborative personality and willingness to work as part of a small, high-performing team
- Comfortable working in a growing environment where processes may continue to evolve

Location & Schedule
This is a fully on-site position.
The company is currently located in West Philadelphia and will transition to a newly renovated facility in Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood in May 2027.
The future facility will feature:

- Large on-site parking lot
Candidates must be comfortable working fully on-site at both the current West Philadelphia facility and the future Port Richmond location.
