Responsibilities

• Own standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost reporting.
• Analyze labor, material, waste, yield, overhead, and inventory performance for cost savings.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Partner with plant leadership to provide financial insights for data-driven decisions.
• Oversee inventory controls, reconciliations, cycle counts, and inventory risk management.
• Support CapEx planning, ROI analysis, project tracking, fixed assets, and capital reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, audits, and food manufacturing requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to costing, forecasting, reporting, and operational efficiency.

A leading food manufacturer is looking to hire a Cost Accountant on-site in McMinnville, OR.

Role:Cost Accountant

Compensation:$80,000 to $110,000 base

The Cost Accountant will support plant finance and manufacturing operations at a food manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive cost control, inventory accuracy, profitability, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Own standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost reporting.
• Analyze labor, material, waste, yield, overhead, and inventory performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Partner with plant leadership to provide financial insights and support data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee inventory controls, reconciliations, cycle counts, and inventory risk management.
