Job summary

CFS is seeking a Cost Accountant to support the operations finance function in Glenview, IL. You will participate in month-end close, inventory evaluations, cost roll-forwards, and standard cost updates for manufactured goods.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in cost accounting, strong Excel and ERP skills, and GAAP knowledge to drive cost efficiency and informed decision-making across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2+ years of cost accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting software and ERP systems.
• Understanding of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to support business decisions.
• Tech Savvy.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Finance Manager as an assistant/backup.
• Assist with month-end closing, inventory evaluation, and roll-forward analysis.
• Maintain the inventory relief process for subcomponents and high-level parts.
• Conduct quarterly physical inventories and cycle counts, resolving variances.
• Set up and update standard costs for manufactured goods.
• Analyze cost accounting data to identify areas for improvement.
• Establish cost structures for labor, administration, and shipping.
• Provide strategic recommendations to leadership to improve cost efficiency and profit.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Handle special projects and administrative tasks as needed.
