Job summary

PiovanGroup is seeking a Cost Accountant to support the Plant Controller at the Franklin, PA location. The role focuses on gross margin analysis, costing, and maintaining accurate inventory records as part of the integrated financial system.

The position reports to the Plant Controller and requires five or more years in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting, with SAP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years of direct/relevant manufacturing-related experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide month-end financial reports.
• Assist in the financial planning of the organization.
• Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and analyze variances.
• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for cost accounting activities.
• Perform physical inventory control and reporting.
• Assist with cycle counts/physical inventories and analyze cost accounting data.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with focus on sales, costs, inventory and liabilities.
• Execute gross margin analysis and report findings.
• Assist with internal and external audits.

Position: Cost Accountant

Role

The Cost Accountant position supports the Plant Controller in all activities as they relate to the integrated financial system, with main emphasis on gross margin analysis, costing, and inventory accuracy. This position will report to Plant Controller and is located in Franklin, Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide month-end financial reports
• Assist in the financial planning of the organization
• Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and analyze variances
• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for cost accounting activities
• Perform physical inventory control and reporting
• Assist with cycle counts/physical inventories, and analyze the cost accounting data
• Reconcile general ledger accounts with a focus on the accounts relating to sales, costs, inventory, and liabilities
• Execute gross margin analysis and report on findings
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Position typically expects five (5)+ years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position
• Prior experience in manufacturing
• SAP experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Strong communication skills to work with individuals from multiple departments and locations
