Job summary

Specified Technologies Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant for our hybrid Burlington, NJ facility. You will maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and support month-end closes alongside plant leadership and finance. This role emphasizes cost control and profitability in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years cost accounting in manufacturing, proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Acumatica/Netstock a plus), and a solid grasp of GAAP. A degree in Accounting is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5 years of cost accounting in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes: WIP, overhead allocation, physical inventory, cycle counts, BOMs, routings, and production reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead in the ERP system.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase price, and production variances and provide explanations to management.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory, COGS, and manufacturing accounts.
• Monitor work-in-process, raw materials, and finished goods valuation and obsolescence reserve.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle count programs, including reconciliation and reporting.
• Prepare periodic reports on costs, margins, and productivity for plant and finance needs.
• Partner with operations, engineering, procurement, and supply chain to review cost drivers and improve costing accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs, inventory, and plant labor and overhead costs.
• Design inventory production processes and collaborate with IT to integrate into ERP.
