Assabet Valley Reg. Tech. High School's Assabet Community Education in Marlborough, MA, seeks a part-time Cosmetology Teacher Assistant to support the Cosmetology program.

Schedule: Mon–Thu, 3:30–7:30 PM. Assist with classroom and hands-on salon instruction and help students practice skills while maintaining sanitation and safety. The ideal candidate holds a MA Cosmetology license (and preferably a MA Cosmetology Instructor license) with 3 years of industry experience, enabling effective support

Qualifications

• Current MA Cosmetology license in good standing.
• Active or in-process MA Cosmetology Instructor license.
• 3 years of professional cosmetology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cosmetology Instructor with classroom and hands-on salon instruction.
• Provide individual and small-group support as students practice cosmetology skills.
• Reinforce sanitation, safety, tool use, and professional salon practices.
• Assist with demonstrations, student practice, supplies, equipment, and classroom prep.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional classroom and salon environment.
• Reinforce professionalism, communication, customer service, and workplace expectations.
• Support students toward program completion and licensure.
• Collaborate with the Cosmetology Instructor and ATI staff to support student success.

Job Description

Assabet Technical Institute (ATI) is seeking a part-time Cosmetology Teacher Assistant to support our Cosmetology program. We are looking for an experienced cosmetology professional who enjoys working with students and wants to help prepare the next generation of cosmetologists for success in the industry.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:30–7:30 PM
Responsibilities
-Assist the Cosmetology Instructor with classroom and hands-on salon instruction.
-Provide individual and small-group support as students practice cosmetology skills and techniques.
-Reinforce proper sanitation, safety, tool use, and professional salon practices.
-Assist with demonstrations, student practice, supplies, equipment, and classroom preparation.

-Reinforce professionalism, communication, customer service, and workplace expectations.
-Support and encourage students as they develop their technical skills and work toward program completion and professional licensure.

Job Requirements

• Required Qualifications
  -Current Massachusetts Cosmetology license in good standing.
  -Must hold, or be actively in the process of obtaining, a Massachusetts Cosmetology Instructor license through the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Cosmetology and Barbering.
  - 3 years of professional experience in the cosmetology industry.
  -Knowledge of current cosmetology practices, sanitation, and safety standards.
  -Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  -Ability to work effectively with students and adult learners.
  -Dependable, professional, patient, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
