Qualifications

• Associate degree or related field in Cosmetology.
• Must possess a current license from the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetology (NCSBC) as a cosmetologist and a North Carolina State Board of Cosmetology Instructor License.
• Demonstrate understanding of open-access community college philosophy and instructional technology.
• Past experience teaching in a community college is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cosmetology Department and manage program leadership and direction.
• Teach with a reduced load and participate in student recruitment activities.
• Foster a nurturing learning environment and uphold college core values.
• Develop, analyze, and implement course development methods.
• Oversee annual performance reviews of program faculty.
• Manage budgets and financial plans related to the program.
• Provide opportunities for faculty and staff professional development.
• Advise students on required courses and transfer options.
• Collaborate with community partners and industry to meet program needs.
