Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking to fill a Cosmetology Lab Assistant pool on a part-time, non-exempt basis. This is a continuous recruitment to maintain an applicant pool for as-needed assignments within the Cosmetology Program.

The role includes assisting faculty, helping students operate tools safely, maintaining records, and supervising the lab during student hours. A Texas CSME license and three years of cosmetology experience are required.

Qualifications

• Texas CSME Operator license required.
• Three (3) years work experience in cosmetology.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in utilizing resources, materials, and educational technology to complement the teaching and learning process.
• Assists students in the proper and safe operation of a variety of tools and equipment.
• Assist faculty in maintaining student records / forms.
• Monitor Cosmetology laboratory when students are completing laboratory hours and services.

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide support services for the Cosmetology Program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Texas CSME Operator license required.
• Three (3) years work experience in cosmetology.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of TDLR rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety in salon settings.
• Knowledge of record keeping.
• Professional verbal communications skills when communicating with students, staff and faculty.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Cosmetology or related field.
