The role emphasizes hands‑on instruction in nail technology and hair styling, with a focus on youth development. Expect 9–15 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, in NYC public schools and community settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• At least one year of work‑related skill or experience.
• At least one year of teaching experience.
• Passion for New York Edge's mission and youth development.

Responsibilities

• Organize, lead, and promote interest in arts activities such as Cosmetology.
• Instructs, manages, and supervises students in the classroom and the beauty space.
• Teach courses in nail technology, hair styling, and other cosmetology topics.
• Prepare lesson plans and adapt activities to student needs.
• Ensure safety and maintain classroom standards.
• Work 9‑15 hours per week, Mon‑Fri 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm.
