Job summary

Reid State Community College seeks a full-time Cosmetology Instructor to deliver day/evening/online instruction, supervise labs and salon sessions, and advise students. You will maintain licensure, align with ACCS standards, and support recruitment and program assessment.

Responsibilities include curriculum planning, student evaluation, and participation in division and college initiatives, with a 15–16 credit hour fall/spring load and a 35-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Alabama cosmetology license in good standing.
• A current Alabama Cosmetology Instructor license in good standing is required.
• Maintain all required professional licenses in active good standing throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and teach assigned Cosmetology courses and related lab and salon experiences.
• Maintain professional competence and ongoing licensure requirements.
• Teach courses per ACCS descriptions and program outcomes.
• Prepare syllabi and materials; communicate attendance, safety, and conduct expectations.
• Provide instruction and supervise students during instructional hours.
• Ensure safe salon practices and proper chemical handling and sanitation.
