Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in teaching field or higher as required by position.
Master's degree preferred for college instructors.
Cosmetology licensure requirements as stated by the program.
Minimum credential prerequisites include relevant state licensure.
Desirable teaching credentials and related experience in cosmetology.

Responsibilities

Develop syllabi outlining course requirements, rationale, goals, and objectives.
Select textbooks and other resources for the class.
Prepare class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content and outcomes.
Teach courses according to catalog descriptions and defined course standards.
Create a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation.
Document attendance, participation, and progress with assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams leading to final grades.
Submit course grades to the Registrar by the assigned date.
Provide counseling and mentoring to students outside class.
Advise on course sequencing and program selections.
Develop and administer pre/post-tests and contribute to curriculum development.
