Douglas J Institutes & Salons is seeking an enthusiastic Cosmetology Educator to inspire, educate, and mentor daytime and evening students as they begin careers in beauty. No prior licensure as an instructor is required; paid training will help you meet state instructor requirements.

You will teach cosmetology classes, share hair theory and techniques, and maintain a professional, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working behind the chair.
• Active Cosmetology license required.
• Flexible to support daytime and evening programs, including some Saturdays.
• Leadership and role model capabilities; ability to hold others accountable.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, professional school environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned cosmetology classes under guidance of Education Coach and Program Team Lead.
• Educate students on hair theory, treatments, techniques, products, and professional practices.
• Create an engaging, supportive learning environment; build student confidence and potential.
• Demonstrate sanitation, safety, and infection-control practices.
• Monitor and oversee student sanitation during the school day.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner.
• Maintain current knowledge of hair design, trends, products, techniques, and industry standards.
• Uphold professional conduct and ethics of the beauty industry.
• Manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ensure adherence to school policies and state regulations.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students develop technical and professional skills.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor to students.

Douglas J is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Cosmetology Educator to inspire, educate, and mentor our daytime and evening students as they prepare to begin their careers in the beauty industry. You don’t have to be a licensed educator to apply. For the right candidate, Douglas J provides paid training and guidance to help you meet the state requirements to become a licensed instructor.

What You’ll Do
