The Wellness Center Salon at Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure is seeking a talented and licensed Cosmetologist with a passion for beauty and wellness to join our team! Rumbling Bald is a private community specializing in vacation rentals, offering both residents and visitors a relaxing, resort-style experience. Our salon provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a focus on exceptional customer service for our community and local guests.

This part-time position offers up to 8-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed, with hourly pay plus service commission, retail sales commission, and tips. Enjoy property access, associate benefits, and discounts on spa and salon services and products.

Essential Job Functions

1. Conduct effective and well-informed consultations to understand clients’ needs.
2. Provide exceptional hairstyling services, including haircuts, coloring, styling, and treatments.
3. Remain current with the latest trends and techniques in hairstyling.
4. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and salon environment.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with guests to encourage repeat business.
6. Collaborate with the salon and front desk team to create a positive and welcoming environment.
7. Ensure that guests' expectations are met or exceeded for a positive and memorable experience.

Requirements

1. A minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Cosmetologist with a current NC license required.
2. High school diploma required.
3. Experience or familiarity with Davines products is a plus.
4. Proficiency in hairstyling techniques, including cutting, coloring, and styling.
5. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
6. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and contribute to a positive salon culture.
7. Work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on the salon’s operational needs.
8. Perform other related duties as requested such as laundry, cleaning and organizing products.

Physical Requirements

• Engage in moderate physical activity, handling of average-weight objects, up to 30 pounds, and standing and/or walking up to eight (8) hours per day.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with others, including speaking, listening, and understanding instructions.
• Read, comprehend, and follow both written and verbal instructions to ensure proper equipment usage and adherence to class procedures.
• Reach overhead, below the knees, and in various directions, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Utilize hands and fingers effectively to handle or operate objects, equipment, or controls necessary for class instruction and facility maintenance.
• Work in an environment that may involve some exposure to fumes, odors, and hazards, requiring adherence to basic safety procedures.
