Job summary

New Radiance Cosmetic Centers is seeking an experienced Surgical First Assistant to join our plastic surgery team. You will work directly alongside plastic surgeons as a trusted intraoperative partner, helping deliver safe, efficient, and exceptional outcomes for patients undergoing elective cosmetic procedures.

You’ll be involved across the full surgical arc—from pre-op planning through the OR to recovery—ensuring our suites run at the highest standard of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• SA-C, CSFA, or RNFA certifications
• Active BLS and ACLS certification
• OR experience in plastic/cosmetic/ambulatory surgery is a strong plus
• Solid working knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, hemostasis, and tissue handling
• Sharp attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the instinct to anticipate what the surgeon needs next
• Familiarity with instruments and techniques used in body contouring, breast aesthetics, and facial cosmetic surgery

Responsibilities

• Review the schedule, patient charts, and procedure plans to understand the surgeon's approach
• Position patients, prep and drape the surgical field, confirm implants and devices, ensure sterility
• Participate in surgical time-outs and pre-op safety checks
• Assist the surgeon in body contouring, breast, and plastic surgery cases with retraction, suctioning, irrigation, and tissue handling
• Assist with hemostasis, dissection, suturing, incision closure, and dressings
• Maintain sterile field and manage instruments and supplies; transport and process instruments after cases
• Assist with dressings, compression garments, and wound care; complete counts of instruments, sponges, and needles
• Support handoff to recovery/PACU and post-op documentation and debriefs
• Collaborate with surgeons, CRNA, recovery nurse, and scrub tech to ensure smooth operations
