Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Operations Planner in Elko, NV, to manage consumable supplies, inventory analytics, and budgeting guidance for the Cortez operation. The role supports cost analyses, contract administration, and annual budgeting, aligning with safety and environmental practices.

The ideal candidate brings 2–4 years of related planning experience, strong Excel/Office skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of directly related maintenance planning, inventory analytics and warehousing experience required.
• Mining experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Work independently with minimal supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles routine purchasing for UG Operation Parts, Tools and Safety items.
• Approves and reviews all bin stock invoicing.
• Monthly work order issue out bolts, plates, wire ground support.
• End of month accruals; work with Engineering department to report all end of month cost.
• Track the 3 month/yearly forecast purchasing items in bulk to save on cost per foot.
• Process vendor creation and maintenance documents that workflow into purchasing; inform end-users of required data and specifications.
• Participate in project work and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Participate and contribute to safety and environmental practices to raise safety awareness.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and work with Strategic Sourcing on key spend categories.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure terms of agreements are fulfilled.
• Support assessment and sourcing of suppliers with the sourcing and procurement team.

The successful candidate is responsible for affective management of consumable supplies for the operation, including inventory management, monthly cost analyses, contract administration and providing guidance during the annual budgeting process.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and work with Strategic Sourcing on key spend categories
• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure terms and conditions of agreements are fulfilled.
• Support assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with the members of the sourcing and procurement team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Two (2) to four (4) years of directly related maintenance planning, inventory analytics and warehousing experience or equivalent combination of training and experience required
• Mining experience preferred
• Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Work independently with minimal supervision preferred
