Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines in Elko, NV is seeking a hydrogeologist to join the Water Management Team at the Cortez operation. You will oversee drilling and construction, perform hydrogeology testing, and communicate dewatering status to Mine Planning and Operations.

Role requires a bachelor's in hydrogeology/geology or related field, 2+ years mining experience preferred, and strong safety leadership. The position offers a comprehensive compensation package and growth within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hydrogeology, geology, civil engineering (or similar) required.
• Minimum 2 years of mining industry experience preferred.
• Advanced technical communications, personal interaction and presentations skills required.
• Ability to operate independently and in small multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with drill rigs and hydrogeology instrumentation preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office, LeapFrog, Deswik, Vulcan, GIS.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, budget, and oversee hydrogeology drilling & construction.
• Perform hydrogeologic testing on drill holes and wells including pump/injection/slug/packer/airlift tests.
• Interpret hydrogeologic testing results.
• Communicate with Mine Planning Staff to meet drilling goals.
• Provide hydrogeological guidance to Mine Operations and Mine Planning.
• Install, operate, and maintain hydrogeology monitoring equipment.
• Collect and analyze monitoring data.
• Manage/supervise drillers and subcontractors.
• Unconventional hours may be necessary due to drilling activities.
• Update and maintain hydrogeologic database.

We are looking for a hydrogeologist to join the Water Management Team at the Cortez operation. This team is leading an extensive dewatering effort and this hydrogeologist will assist by overseeing well drilling and construction, performing hydrogeology testing, and communicating dewatering status to other departments.

• Assist with planning, design, budget, and oversight of hydrogeology drilling & construction
• Perform hydrogeologic testing on drill holes and completed wells - including pump, injection, slug, packer, and airlift testing
• Assist with the interpretation of hydrogeologic testing
• Communicate with Mine Planning Staff - short and long range - to accomplish drilling goals
• Provide hydrogeological expertise and guidance to Mine Operations and Mine Planning Staff
• Install, operate, and maintain hydrogeology monitoring equipment
• Collect and analyze monitoring data
• Manage/supervise drillers and subcontractors
• Unconventional hours may be necessary due to drilling activities
• Update and maintain hydrogeologic database
