Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an experienced Site Services HVAC Technician for the Cortez operation in Elko, NV. You will safely perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, motors, controls, and instrumentation to keep critical systems up and running.

This role requires parsing electrical schematics, minimal supervision, and the ability to work with PLCs, VFDs, and related trade tools.

Qualifications

• Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot circuits.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with PLC controls, troubleshooting, and VFDs preferred.
• EPA/CIRO certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform preventive maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
• Work rotating nights and days, including callouts and overtime.

The successful candidate will safely and effectively perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of power distribution centers, switchgear, motors and controls, process controls and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, both heating and cooling, motors and controls, instrumentation and refrigeration
• Must be willing to work shifts, overtime, and callouts
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of (5) years of experience with HVAC systems is preferred
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical circuits is required
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and provide feedback is required
• Some experience with PLC controls, troubleshooting and programming, as well as experience with variable frequency drives is preferred
• Instrumentation experience is preferred
• HVAC system certified is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job is required
• Capable and willing to work with maintenance and operational teams is required
• Good safety record and ability to work with various safety programs is required
• EPA certification is preferred
• Knowledge and understanding with the use of trade specific tools is required
• CIRO (ammonia) certification is preferred
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
