Job summary

Vision Point Systems in Bethesda, MD is seeking an engineering technician to support corrosion testing and laboratory operations onsite at customer locations in Bethesda and Olney. The role involves specimen prep, data collection, and assisting with test apparatus design.

You will maintain equipment, help with field and lab tests, and support government personnel with lab upkeep. A DoD Secret clearance is required or obtainable, with 2+ years lab experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Must work independently with precision and strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 2+ years in a lab setting or equivalent experience.
• Willing to work onsite in Bethesda, MD and Olney, MD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare corrosion testing specimens, including abrasive blasting and coating applications.
• Collect objective quality evidence on specimen preparation and coating thickness.
• Assist with design and construction of test apparatus and rapid prototyping.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and calibration.
• Support engineers with test program execution and data collection.
• Assist Government personnel with laboratory upkeep and safety.
